More About Acts III Global
ministries
In a nutshell, Acts III seeks to
glorify the Lord through planting churches and establishing local and foreign
ministry and missions.
On the home front, we seek to
meet both spiritual and physical needs of those in our community
through our churches and thrift stores. For
the physical needs of our neighbors, we offer everyone in the local
community to come in and apply for and receive necessity items for
free. These items include things like clothing, shoes, dishes,
bedding, kitchen items, etc. They simply come in and fill out an
application, go through a simple interview, and are approved the same
day. To date, 100% of all applicants have been approved and received
assistance. That is our mandate... none to be turned away.
For the Spiritual needs of our
local neighbors, we seek to live up to our name. Our ministry is
named after Acts chapter 3 in the Bible. Here is the text of
Acts 3:1-9 in the King James Bible:
"1Now
Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer,
being the ninth hour. 2And a certain man lame
from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate
of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that
entered into the temple; 3Who seeing Peter and John about
to go into the temple asked an alms. 4And Peter, fastening
his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5And he gave
heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6Then
Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I
thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7And
he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and
immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8And
he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the
temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9And all
the people saw him walking and praising God:"
This lame man,
immortalized in the word of God, had real physical needs. Later
on in Acts we find out that he was above 40 years in age. I am
sure that his physical needs could have been met temporarily by money.
Yes the money could have bought him food and clothing and shelter.
But no amount of money in the world could buy him salvation. Money
only addressed his temporary needs and not his eternal ones.
Maybe this is the very reason Jesus sent His Disciples in the world
without money.
I sure most
Americans have been confronted with someone begging for money at one
point or another...maybe a man on the Exit off of the expressway,
maybe a homeless person downtown. The easiest thing to do is to
shove a dollar in their hand. This makes us feel good about
ourselves and lets us sleep at night. But what have we really
accomplished?
Acts III's roots
came from a secular charity that gave away more than $8 Million in
clothing, cash, furniture and other necessities over a 10 year period.
But what the Lord had shown us was that all we had done was to glorify
ourselves. All of the
people that we had "helped," had only been given temporary
help and not eternal.
The Lord burdened
us, to tell people about Him...meet
the spiritual needs of the people first, and then all of the blessings
they receive will glorify Him
and not us as individuals or even as a ministry. So now we share the
true Gospel of Jesus Christ with all those locally that the Lord opens
a door for us too.
On the foreign
front, we seek to take the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the world
as the Lord leads. We are not seeking to build a ministry,
rather only to be obedient to go and do as the Lord bids us.
He may send us to a foreign country only to reach one family and make
them true disciples...and then leave for the next family or
individual. That's the Power of One.
To date, the
majority of our work has been in Malawi, Central Africa, but we have
also ministered in and supported missionaries in Mexico, Costa Rica,
Honduras, and Ghana. In Malawi, the Lord led us to establish 1 church
in January 2003. Today that 1 church has grown to more than 77
churches in Malawi and Mozambique and 5 orphan care facilities.
In 2005, we organized the churches into self-governing groups and
focused on the core reasons that the Lord sent us there.
Currently, the Lord
is building a 14,000+ sq.ft. full-time orphanage
in Blantyre, Malawi through our ministry and the people He is raising
up to partner with us. We hope to see it completed by the Summer of
2008. We also operate 4 churches now in Malawi staffed with 6
full-time indigenous pastors and 1 administrator.
In the future of
the ministry, the Lord seems to be guiding and positioning us to
publish and produce videos, evangelical and discipleship material, as
well as produce other teaching aids.

ministry is incomplete, and we are always looking to see whom the Lord
will raise up to provide the missing pieces.
